This past March I celebrated birthday with close family and friends at one of my favourite restaurants in London, Bibendum. I'm not a fan of large parties 9where I'm the centre of attention) so I couldn't think of anything better than enjoying wine and oysters with the people I love most.
Every year I get myself a gift and this year I decided that I'd buy myself all my favourite flowers. It's one of the reasons I became a florist, I like flowers a lot. They make me happy. If I'm in a bad mood and I go to the New Covent Garden Flower Market, even at five in the morning -it turns my mood around. I leave the south London Market with trollies full of greens, flowers and branches. So this year I set myself a budget and bought things just for me, if they made me smile, they got added to the cart.
Hauling it all into my studio, I couldn't help the gleeful smile that came across my face. Today I would be transforming a corner of my studio into a flower wall. But first... let's make a bouquet.
A post will be coming later this month, teaching you how to create your own flower wall at home. While you're waiting, start to think up some ideas, colours, branches, flowers and greenery. There are so many different directions you could take it!
